Soroptimist Magic

Move over, Harry Potter. Two Soroptimists are making magic in the art world.

When designer Cathy Stevens (SI of Salt Lake) met artist Terry Willis (SI of Price), she was so impressed with her work that she knew it had to have a broader audience.

Cathy arranged to show Terry Willis' art at Wohler’s Art (8800 So. 1300 E. in Sandy). I stopped by the gallery last week. Terry’s work is amazing. Her bio, on display at Wohler’s, reads in part:

Terry brings a passion for place to her paintings. Moved by what she sees, she captures a moment as light and shadow play across canyons, rivers, and ridges. In each creation she strives to immortalize the feeling of being alone and at peace in an incredible but real place. Viewing her paintings is like a little respite in the wilderness. Terry also views her work as preserving a piece of remote, wild, and little known landscapes. Many of her paintings are in areas under threat of development

You can view Terry’s work at www.willisworksstudio.com.

How far will the magic extend? I guess we’ll have to wait and see. Want to make some magic of your own for women and girls? Consider joining a Soroptimist club. Find a club near you at www.soroptimist.org.
